A Brief Description of the AMI Chamber of Commerce Giving Back program:

Since 2009 The Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce has been running a program called “Save The Trolley”. This program was put together by the AMI Chamber of Commerce and Manatee County.  The purpose of the program was to keep the trolley free for the residents and visitors who use it daily. The AMI Chamber worked out an agreement with Manatee County to keep it free for our residents and tourists who rely on it by offering advertising opportunities to AMI chamber members. The revenues from this advertising would be used to cover trolley operational and maintenance costs. The success of this program has now given that it provided the Anna Maria Island Chamber of Commerce the opportunity to “Give Back” to the island community. We are able to use revenues to give donations to non/not-for-profit chamber members who work so hard to benefit the community, tourism and our businesses with their programs, festivals and overall support.
