The Welsh Players are returning to AMI! A Special Three – Day Performance of “Bullshot Crummond”, by the Award Winning Players’ Theatre of Wales, will be coming back to Island Players!
The Welsh Players first performed at the Island Players in 1980 and enjoyed being here so much that they have continued to travel 5000 miles to perform for our community numerous times thereafter.
In their 41 year history, The Welsh Players, directed by Gareth Gibbs, have been awarded the coveted British One Act Championship – The Lord Howard de Walden Trophy four times. (Over 500 theater companies throughout England, Scotland, Northern Ireland & Wales entered this year’s competition.)
“Bullshot Crummond”, a parody stage play of the British pulp hero Bulldog Drummond, was written by Ron House, Alan Shearman, Diz White, John Neville Andrews and Derek Cunningham in 1974.
Captain Hugh “Bullshot” Drummond, WWI Ace fighter pilot, Olympic athlete, race driver and part-time sleuth, must save the world from the dastardly Count Otto van Bruno in this hilarious parody of 1930’s detective movies.
The International Herald Tribune called it “Uproarious”. If you want to laugh until it hurts, come see “Bullshot Crummond” presented by the Welsh Players.
